Spurred in part by HEAVEN's
experience of using technology to empower education, and
in full by Vergant founder Wendy Dubit's lifelong quest
for hands-on learning, Vergant Ed is proud to introduce
The Producers' Project
and The Education Station
-- two programs that add real-world relevance to academics
while deepening participants' mastery and use of media.
What does it mean to be a Producer?
According to Webster's, it is to give birth or rise to;
to compose, create, or bring about by intellectual or physical
effort; to present to the public on the stage or screen
or over radio or television; to offer to view or notice.
Vergant Ed is now piloting The
Producers' Project and The Education Station
as initiatives that will use television, new media and the
best of interactivity (i.e. fully engaged teachers and students)
to enrich and enliven the teaching, learning and testing
of Math, Science and English Language Arts.
The Producers'
Project puts powerful tools of production, presentation
and self-directed learning into the hands of high school
students and staff, while The
Education Station carries and promotes the educational
and motivational programming created by them.

Producers' Project and The
Education Station. Alternative Superintendecy high
school students and staff are also encouraged to apply for
our Producers' Project Fall
'02 Programs, held in in partnership with the
Alternative
Superintendency of New York City’s Board of Education.
