WELCOME to Vergant's
May 15 - June 19 Dining to Make a Difference Fest
-- a month-long festival that builds community and
rebuilds business for downtown's restaurant industry
while raising awareness and funds for affiliated
charities. Details of this exciting celebration
follow. And we hope you will return to these pages
soon and often for updates, including any event
changes or rain plans.
WHAT: May
15 - June 19 South-of-Chambers-Street Scavenger Hunt
and Celebration that encourages participants
to patronize as many Dining to Make a Difference
and downtown venues (including restaurants, retail
stores and cultural institutions) as possible, and
to collect PoP (Proof of Presence) materials from
each.
PoP: Proof of
Presence materials can include pictures taken, notes
on napkins, business cards, coasters, matchbooks,
menus, mementos (but nothing that would constitute
stealing), and more. Be creative!!!
Prizes:
Will be awarded to Scavenger Hunt entrants in such
categories as most places visited, most creative display
of PoP materials (we’re thinking collages, montages,
decoupages and more) and most amusing and moving photos
of and anecdotes about the experience. As of this
posting, ALL entrants will be winners! Participants
should bring their PoP displays to the stage area
of our June 19 finale (see below) no later than 6:00
pm, for an awards ceremony slated for 6:45 pm, or
can make other arrangements by e-mailing info@vergant.com.
Dates: May
15 - June 19 promotion, with after-work events each
Wednesday from opening through closing. Each event
begins at 5:30, lasts until Sunset
and closes with a procession of rescue
team Scott and Bear Shields and interested program
participants to the next week's location. Throughout,
participants are encouraged to patronize as many downtown
establishments as possible. All events are free and
open to the public -- although participants are encouraged
to eat and drink at each establishment -- with funds
for charity raised via a percentage of food and beverage
proceeds, weekly raffles and a closing night auction.
